    Pedersen Group is seeking to employ a Chip Kiosk Operator at the company’s operation in Kawerau.

     The role is to operate and supervise the receival of outside sawmill chip, ensure that the incoming product meets quality specifications, and that the chip is delivered and stored in a correct and safe manner.

    The hours of work of the position are on a rotating shift pattern of

    Week One   Day shift 12 hours per day Monday to Friday followed by

    Week Two   Night shift 12 hours Monday to Thursday

    The successful applicant for this position will be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes

    • Demonstrated Customer Service skills
    • Competency with computerized systems and documentation with the ability to prepare simple reports on both Excel and Word templates.
    • Ability to effectively and efficiently perform Instructions accurately.

     

    Further there is the requirement for cleaning of the chip grid and surrounds and therefore there is the need to be physically fit to be successful in the role

    A Class 1 license (full) is essential and a Class 2 License with W, T endorsements, would be desirable.

  2. Plant Serviceperson – Kinleith

    Pedersen Group are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and/or experienced person to join our mobile plant service team. The role at the Kinleith Workshop would suit a person with the following skills and experience:

    • Understanding of Mobile Plant Hydraulics, Mechanical and Electrical Systems
    • Demonstrated experience in Repairs, Servicing, and Oil changes on Heavy Diesel Mobile Plant (A formal mechanical qualification will be favorably considered)
    • Currently hold a class 2 license or be prepared to gain one we will train
    • Ability to work within a small team and communicate well with operators on site
    • Self motivated and safety conscious

    A vacancy has become available at the Kawerau operation for a Maintenance Manager.

    This role reporting directly to the Site Manager will be accountable and responsible for plant maintenance fixed and mobile, ensuring productivity rates and efficiencies are achieved, by forecasting, planning, organising and carrying out scheduled, non-scheduled and preventative maintenance on the fixed and mobile plant, developing an effective working relationship with all parties that have an interest or potential impact on the business.

    Key areas of responsibility include:

    • Responsibility & ownership for developing and delivering a constantly evolving quality maintenance plan that drives performance.
    • Assessing and analysing opportunities on repairs and maintenance issues to both fixed and mobile plant and machinery.
    • Assessing the quality of the product outputs and make recommendations and or modifications for quality control and continuous improvement, working at both the ‘shop floor’ and as a part of the Site leadership team to resolve any plant issues.
    • Leading a Maintenance Team that drives and delivers quality outcomes at all levels.
    • Input into and management of the site maintenance budget both R&M and Capital.
    • Developing and maintaining a commitment to a Health & Safety focused culture by promoting and supporting the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement whilst demonstrating the company values and behaviors.

     

    As the successful applicant, you will have proven ability to lead and motivate a cohesive team of 8 direct reports, whilst fostering on-going organisational culture and improvement, demonstrating sound judgement with a focused and logical approach to problem-solving.
